Camp Robin’s Substance Use Recovery Support programming is built on one foundational belief: every woman deserves to be met with compassion, not judgment. We offer recovery coaching, peer mentorship, harm reduction education, and navigation support connecting African American women in Metro Detroit to licensed treatment programs, recovery networks, and community-based care — all within a framework that honors the full complexity of each woman’s story.
Why This Matters
Recovery is not a single moment. It is a long, nonlinear journey that looks different for every woman — and it is nearly impossible to walk alone. For African American women, the barriers to recovery support are compounded by stigma, a lack of culturally responsive providers, childcare, transportation, cost, and systems that have historically criminalized rather than supported Black women in crisis. Camp Robin exists to fill those gaps with dignity.
What We Offer
Who This Is For
This programming is for African American women who are in active use, in early recovery, or anywhere on the continuum in between. You do not need to be ready to stop. You do not need to have hit ‘rock bottom.’ You just need to be willing to talk to someone who will not shame you for where you are.
